The city of New Orleans is known for its rich cultural history, and among other things, for being the birthplace of Jazz music. It is therefore no surprise that the style of blues which stems from there, would soak up much of these things as influences. The New Orleans style of the blues is known for its often Caribbean style rhythms and Dixieland Jazz influences. Piano and Saxophone tend to be the predominant instruments of the style, however there are quite a number of guitarists as well. The mood tends to be laid-back, yet is often more cheerful than other blues styles.
