The Blues has been around for at least 110 years and still survives until this day. Along the way it has influenced nearly every form of popular music in some way, shape or form and has branched out into many different styles. Contemporary Blues is the blues in its newest form. Unlike most previous sub-genres, it is not one that is in any way tied to a geographic location. It is also probably the most diverse, as it draws influences from a greater variety of other genres than ever before. This episode brings together a number of releases from the year 2000 onwards, from both new and older artists.
