Mit fast 40 Jahren auf dem Buckel, 16 Studioalben, zahllosen Singles, 6 Compilations, 2 Soundtracks und einigem mehr haben Yo La tengo in ihrer bewegten und vielseitigen Laufbahn selten stillgestanden. Seit 1992 besteht die Band aus Gitarrist Ira Kaplan und Schlagzeugerin Georgia Hubley (die auch ein Paar sind), sowie James McNew (der 1991 zur Band stieß, noch vor Yo La Tengos fünftem Album May I Sing With Me und nachdem sie bereits 14 Bassisten durchlaufen hatten). Der Fokus in dieser Sendung liegt auf den leiseren und subtileren Stücken von YLT, die ja auch für einen noisigen Sound bekannt sind.

The kind of sound you never want to have properly defined, which is precisely what writers with words strive to do – with questions about influences and interests and anecdotes – because to do so would be reductive.
