I am Beatrice and I live in Bucharest, Romania where I go on with life and study Anthropology.

I’ve made the selection for this mix with the same old things I have in mind: alpha and omega, human relations and the things that happen off the radar of thought–either behind mediocre or utilitarian scientific endeavors or among obscure works of science and art, or behind appearances, automatistic communication, and the utterances of lip service being paid to whatever meets fashionability with finding oneself surrounded by people and their more or less direct attention.

As art is unscrupulously conceptualized today with disproportionate bulks of seemingly sophisticated words just to be embellished with the truth it fails to make obvious, I used whatever sound–musical (whatever that means) or not–I feel makes some things about the world we share very clear. It starts from beyond Earth, goes through prehistory, the origins of language, sex and war, the anthropocene, and ends with the kind of reflections that are tragically uncommon.

To hell with money and the overacted frail identities that assimilate people into parodies of themselves. What a bore!

Beatrice is part of Corp., a Bucharest based feminist DJ collective comprising her, Admina, Chlorys (hear her Texture Mix here) and Cosima von Bülowe. She is also curating an audition series called Introspective.
