TUFO, “tuff” in English, refers the solid ground on which Siena’s foundations have been laid upon. Through this monthly radio show we will be unearthing the produce, the characters and the traditions of Siena, the Chianti area and Tuscany as a whole: a unique region, rich in flavour, beauty and contrasts. In episode #3 we take a look at the Cinta Senese pig as it’s an integral part of Siena’s biodiverse landscape. A treasured symbol of fertility, the pig’s meat is a prized delicacy of the region. In this episode we explore the rich lineage of the endangered breed and the valiant work of local farmers preserve it. TUFO episode #3 was written and produced by the 53100 team. TUFO wouldn’t exist without the precious help of Manon Girault (voice narration), Theo Ammann (editing), Cristiano Bussolotti (mastering). Amateur photography by the 53100 team. TUFO is produced by 53100, an international music festival taking place from the 3rd till the 5th of September 2021 at the Castello di Selvole, in Tuscany’s region of Chianti. https://www.53100.org
