Ragnhild May & Kristoffer Raasted are both working with sound within a visual arts context. For Cashmere Radio they perform a two hour set consisting of new material made during a two month artist residency in Rome. The set also contains un-edited recordings from the train journey from Rome to Berlin. Focusing on water sounds recorded with a hydrophone as well as the water infrastructure in cities – the artistic research conducted during the artist residency has previously been presented at Gallery Zwitschermaschine as part of the exhibition water~sound~city curated by Francisco Petrucci in November 2019. For their set at Cashmere Radio, May & Raasted broadcast a selection of pieces made during their stay in Italy as well as a selection from their background catalogues.
Kristoffer Raasted holds an MFA in visual arts from the Royal Danish Academy in fine Arts, Copenhagen. They have exhibited and performed at various locations, including Kunsthal Charlottenborg, IDIO Gallery NYC and Die Färberei München and have contributed to the Found Sound compilation KAANTOR on Prtrichor/Staaltape.
Ragnhild May received her MFA in music/sound from Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College (New York) and is educated in sculpture from Academy of Fine Arts Vienna an de the Jutland Art Academy. Performances includes Issue Project Room, Roulette, Spektrum and at Gaudeamus Music Week. Her sculptural and installational work has been exhibited broadly, including galleries such a small Die Raum, The Danish National Museum, Overgaden Institute of Fine Arts and Museum Aktikum.
As a duo, the artists have released their work on Laura Lies In & Sensorisk Verden, and performed at Café Oto, Superdeluxe and Copenhagen Contemporary.
