Following recent protests in my homeland Kenya, I felt moved to do a show for the patriots present & departed. Artists do not have the luxury of being apolitical. Freedom from impunity is coming & with it Love, Joy and Peace. Power to all oppressed peoples out there, & woe unto the oppressors, VIVA! The defiant Kenyan voices echo throughout this episode, while I- the host go silent for we are speaking in one voice.

'Pamoja Kazini' translates to 'Together at Work', these words are also in our National anthem … which is what this current frothing revolution feels like. It's surreal but also very sobering. One feeling that's undeniably suspended in the air is the need to be together & united at this very crucial & brutal time for us lot- so as to survive the times & chart a path for progress after the deed is done. We've managed to free ourselves of divisive shackles that entrapped every generation before us- religion, tribe, social class etc. It's a beautiful silver lining that sprung out of the dark cloud currently above us. No one was ready for it but it came anyway, like a stubborn child forcing it's way out of the womb prematurely.

If you'd like to see some snippets from the current situation in Kenya, I made a small documentation of two different protests I attended. The Government has since clamped down heavily on us with multiple human rights violations such as the use of live bullets & tear gas on peaceful protestors. People have died, others abducted and tortured … so naturally the protests are quelling down in number but the fire within us rages even more fiercely as we seek ought alternative modes of activism in this here times. Anyway, you can check out the images/videos here.

Felt moved to try & fossilize these emotions sonically to the spirit in my nation rn but also beyond because the struggle is universal. Taking an informed side-quest away from my usual electronic musings to gain extra XP so I could stick it to the Final Boss eventually. Happy Listening! Next month we're back to irregular programming, LOVE & LIGHT.
