In this episode of Svietas, we will meet two sound artists, experimental electroacoustic music composers from Kaunas, Lithuania: Tadas Greičiūnas and Arūnas Periokas

Tadas Greičiūnas will present his new album, “Solus Simul” which he plans to release on cassette soon. The album conceptually derives from the artists’ deep focus on faith and the human relationship with the Divine. Tadas has incorporated many unconventional field recordings with acoustic and electronic instruments in the album. We will be discussing Tadas’s creative world where themes of faith and spirituality are uniquely intertwined with noise aesthetics, soundtrack composition, and experimental electroacoustic improvisation.

Arūnas Periokas is going to talk about his project, “Phaenomena”. It is a soundscape composition that explores the acoustics, soundscape, and modernist environment of Kaunas. During the discussion, Arūnas will also share his field recording collage “ThereWhereSounds” and explain the process of collecting field recordings. He will also describe how he applies soundscape elements in his music, which is similar to writing a diary.
