Phase Pattern emerged through involvement in London-based artist collective CutUp, Solina HiFi, and the band Cheatahs. Playing with hand-built analogue synths, samplers, and turntables, sonic environments are crafted from found sounds and records. Live and DJ sets draw on UK sound system styles, Rocksteady and Soul from the 60s, synth music of the 70s, and the early acid house and electronic movements, while staying rooted in the pioneering experiments of sonic physics and psycho-acoustics. Grooves and melodies are the frontier.
