Diane Barbé is an independent sound artist, curator and researcher based in Berlin, Germany.
She currently investigates chronobiology – the entanglement of human, animal, biological perspectives through time manipulation.
At MaerzMusik, she presened a composition of field recordings and live interventions, a personal journey from 2021 to 2022 that goes from Berlin to Khao Sok in Thailand, and back to the agricultural mountains of the Schwarzwald in Southern Germany.
Exploring the boundaries of naturalistic scenes, made of elements from the same place, and artificial collages, this is an
attempt to listen and resonate with these sounds, using various whistles and bird calls – instruments not made for music making but rather for signaling and mimicking birds, often with the purpose of hunting them.
