The Weirding Module with Nathan Gray listens in to spoken word and the voice in Contemporary Art and Experimental music.
Digital music collections and especially metadata allow you to make some unusual musical connections, track length for example. Many artists make skits, short sketches, and intros that don’t develop into full tracks but function instead as interludes. Such tracks are interesting in their own right but don’t really develop or go anywhere. “Until It Appears” collects 300 of such tracks assembling them through logics of harmony, dynamics, humor and poetry into a 1 hour mix that attempts the impossibility of some sort of coherence. With the same focus on spoken word and the voice that often inhabits my work “Until it Appears” creates a cut-up narrative scattered across disparate voices and contexts. It’s a wild magic eye puzzle, a broken telephone rebus that’s fun, funny and occasionally beautiful.

Athens-based Stegi Radio and Berlin-based Cashmere Radio present a one-day online exchange event on Sunday 14 January 2024. As part of the ever-growing community of online radios outside the mainstream, Cashmere and Stegi exchange producers in an effort to build bridges beyond borders and solidify communal bonds, share new sounds and ideas and present each radio’s unique character to their respective audiences in both cities. Cashmere Radio presents a roster of producers that reflect its experimental nature, while Stegi Radio chooses up and coming producers from Athens, Thessaloniki and beyond that represent the adventurous and genre-defying creative force of the electronic scene of Greece.
