ORDER FROM NOISE — über Bienen und Organisationen

How do bees organize the division of labour? What modes of decision making are applied? What is the role of the queen bee? And what do beekeeping and systemic consulting have in common? Taking the observation of bees as a starting point, the audio piece considers what can be learned from the principles of nature for the organization of human workplaces. The production interlinks Maurice Maeterlincks poetic narrations about the lives of bees with the constructivist assumptions of the cyberneticist Heinz von Förster and my own bee keeping practices.

Lisa Ertl is a consultant for systemic organizational development and a beekeeper, always passionate about the nature, evolution and cooperation of social systems. She has studied Cultural and European Studies and is co-founder of nyoo organizational development.
