We invite you to a meeting, reading, and discussion around Wojciech Kosma's poetry book: "Our Desires Are Bound," published by the Staromiejski Dom Kultury in Warsaw, co-organizer of the event. The meeting will be held in English and led by Max from the show im Regen-Austausch.
I write poems to speak them aloud. This simplifies them, clarifies them, but also "makes them real." I can't share something I don't believe in, especially publicly. Wanting to embrace the saying "he who sings prays twice" — I sing poems or even let them sing themselves. In the most beautiful songs, there's almost no room for language; the melody chooses the words itself. Our Desires Are Bound is a record of my speaking aloud, listening, yielding to my voice, surrendering it, and finally—in the midst of a forest, a city, a feeling — quiet, tender humming.
