Stelis a longterm Sound Installation

by David Esser

"Stelis" is a multimedia long-term installation that evolves through various media to ultimately manifest as an independent transhumanistic and transnatural entity. This installation begins on the purely auditory level, utilizing recordings of electromagnetic sounds, plastic, water, and light sensors to illuminate and create symbolic "germination patterns" of Stelis through an auditory sound collage. The application of granular synthesis facilitates the realization of this concept through three essential acts.

In the initial act, "Stelis" listeners are invited to experience the process of germination, witnessing the journey from seed to sprout. Four metaphorical leaves serve as the foundation and structure for upcoming shows, symbolizing the different stages of growth and development.

The objective of "Stelis" is to question and explore the interactions and symbiotic relationship patterns between humans and the plant world, drawing parallels to the merging of humans and machines in the context of a dynamically technologized world. This installation serves as the first step in an intellectual exchange that comprehends digitization as an evolutionary process and suggests that we should prepare ourselves for the intelligent technology that is emerging.

In this context, friendship emerges as a potential response to a world where machines transcend triviality, emphasizing the need for meaningful connections in an increasingly technological and interconnected landscape.

"Stelis" offers listeners the opportunity to immerse themselves in the germination process, setting the stage for further exploration of growth and blossoming in the subsequent acts of this unique multimedia journey.
