I left my body behind
i left my body behind by Martian M. Mächler is a book about some body – an autofictional interweaving that deals with dissociative states in a nuanced way without using pathologizing and healing language. The narrative poetry collection embarks on a search for a less closed understanding of body and language, one that remains fluid and changeable. Written in English, a language that Martian M. Mächler is less familiar with than the (Swiss) German that Mächler grew up with, this fact is further alienated and fragmented.
