Slikback is Kenyan DJ and Producer Freddie Njau. After joining Nyege Tape’s Boutiq Studios in Kampala in mid 2017 as studio head and producer, Slikbak developed a unique sound which fuses a diverse sonic pallette borrowing from footwork, trap, grime and a variety of contemporary underground African club styles.
His Debut EP “Lasakaneku” was released in June 2018. The EP and individual tracks have received widespread acclaim from Djs and critics, and found their place among the ‘best of 2018 lists on both Pitchfork and Fact magazine.’
