Recording of the live set of Matteo Stella (electronics) and Matteo Paggi (trombone & trumpet) presenting the new Anello del Monte d Aria EP, released by Miniera Records in Rome.
Coming from the deep connection between the roots of their hometown in central Italy and their more experimental side, the result is a storytelling where the sound of organ, winds and electronic processing shortens the distance between an old, vibrant past and their vision of an evocative present.
In the words of Matteo Stella:
"I have been a huge fan of the church organ of Sefro since the day it was renovated in 2019. The local journal published a small article which ended with these words: “The music that our old people like but that our young people would also like only if someone would let them listen to it.”
And so it began my interest in discovering these instrument which, cutting down to the essential, I had the opportunity to record last year in March.
After a while I decided to let Matteo Paggi listen to the recordings which gave a wonderful and really important contribution by playing trombone and trumpet over them. Later I decided to also include LKSMN and Giulio de Asmundis to give an experimental twist to the third track."
