In this month’s experimental episode we are pleased to have special guest Nuno Marques Pinto (aka NU NO) who is a multidisciplinary artist from Portugal. He utilizes theatre, performance and painting as tools to build a bombastic singular voice that pulses through the waves like no other. His work deconstructs language and sound by transcending our ordinary tongue and breath into an almost supernatural space of voice and body.
In between the sound and breath of Nuno’s work the listener will also be taken into the world of Michael Palmer, who is often associated with the Language poetry movement. Palmer’s exploratory work explores our concepts of representation and habits of language. Many critics link Palmer’s poetry to poets like Louis Zukofsky, Paul Celan, Samuel Beckett, Surrealism, but Palmer’s poetry continues to bypass categorization.
