In this month’s episode we had the pleasure in speaking with Smoked Poet, a Kashmiri Street Poet from East London (Walthamstow). Get a glimpse into the world of East London pre and post gentrification, the collectives which have formed in past/recent years, insight into Kashmiri history, poetry, resist against occupations and the continuous genocides there.
We’ll also be hearing from some of the selected artists who inspire the work and flow of Smoked Poets like Hak Baker, MF Doom, Capital Steez, and developing hip hop underground culture in the UK and internationally like Lex Amor, Kojey radical, Green tea peng, Ghetts, Kano, No name, Dua Saleh, among other international artists who Smoked Poet has worked or collaborated with.
Have a listen to Smoked Poets most recent EP *Lemon Heart* in the band camp link down below.
Smoked Poets has just recently worked with Osloob, Sarah and Ward, on a project called ‘stones in my veins’ for refugee week 2020 and has a new project with Jurum, a three track EP ‘Take me back to the ends.’ Smoked Poets future projects include working on a new EP with a few international music producers from Palestine to Vienna. And is finding ways to write new poetry, and Lyrics.
