Going home also meant engaging more critically with a local that I had taken a lot from but never felt like I’d really given back to. The Block is an area in Sydney/Eora that housed a booming community of First Nations peoples in the early 70s but was slowly ‘developed’ and trampled out.
For my final instalment on fictions ( :((( :((( ) not only did I want to giving more historical light to The Block in Sydney but I also wanted to explore the formation and impact of boundaries, communities and borders in a broader sense as well as in a personal way, like stops and starts and openings and closings. Thanks to elly of course for the inspo.
Big bigger biggest thanks to nono for letting me take over for the past months, fictions w/gigsta has also meant a lot to me and this was a lot of fun!
