Welcome to another episode of the Happy Hours. I had planned to start this show with an early Demo Recording of the Doors’ (when they were still called Rick & the Ravens) ›Summer’s Almost Gone‹. That seems to be pretty much the mood these days in Berlin. But the machines had different plans and refused to play the file, which I took as some kind of omen. Maybe summer isn’t quite over yet. While I rarely have a strict idea what I’m gonna play on the show, this one was particularly loose. There’s some slow burn stuff in the beginning, even some hip-hop, until the tempo eventually picks up and moves into house territory and things get much more clubby than expected. I should probably go for a proper booty wiggle soon – it’s been way too long. Oh also… while I like to think that on most days I can string together a few halfway coherent English sentences, the Cashmere mics have a tendency to turn me into a rambling mess sometimes. This was definitely one of those nights. But… isn’t speech impairment an indicator of a pretty solid happy hour? I sure hope so. PS: There’s one track in there that already made an appearance in the last show. I guess it’s a real favorite at the moment.
