Memorias #58 w/ Cobeia

This year Memorias is opening up to the musical scene in the city of Berlin and beyond. We hope there will be many guests coming to the broadcast showcasing their music. It’s a real pleasure to have DJ, Record Collector & Music Curator Cobeia as special guest.

Since his teens, Cobeia’s been an avid listener collecting music mostly on Vinyl as well as CDs, Digital, MDs & Tapes. Growing up in a multicultural family & environment in Geneva, he lived in London from 96 to 99 before regular long stays in Berlin in the 00’s before settling down here in 2011.

Cobeia has always been a sound enthusiast. Keen to explore an array of styles, he digs up gems that hold a sincere musical quality to him: music w/ instruments, synths, drum machines & a warm analog sound in a computer world.

Among other journeys, he traveled extensively throughout Eastern Europe, North & East Africa and Southeast Asia, further expanding his music appreciation and wide tastes across the sound spectrum. 

Since 2001 he’s been a DJ, a cultural actor and promoter. In Geneva, Cobeia has organized many electro-acoustic, folk, rock, experimental, African and electronic music events, before grouping it all into his project Ecoutes au vert (EAV) launched in 2006. EAV features a series of music events, a summer Festival and the guest mix series « Music For Indoors » started when Covid struck in 2020. In Berlin, EAV events are taking since 2015 with more plans in the pipeline for 2022.

Cobeia has also been part of the Wet Delights cosmic crew doing 12 hours Parties in the Berlin underground.
