REBEL! FM w/ MTWOTISA REBEL! FM invites Moone

This episode REBEL! FM welcomes Côte d'Ivoire native Moone. An exceptional Writer, Electronic DJ and self described Angel. Moone has stamped Their presence in the region having graced several stages around West Africa and managed to execute Their debut EU tour last year. This aside, Moone seems to remain grounded in the essence of Their artistry. A well knit Afro-Electronique showcase from the griot begins at the 30 minute mark. Regarding their sound/style, They write-

'As a DJ, my intention with the music I share is to make people feel something, always. I have no specific goal other than this one. I’d just like for the sound to move you. And however the music touches you is directly linked to however you receive it. How open you are and how much you’re willing to surrender to it. There’s no trick and it’s always about the music.

If I had to name this mix, I’d simply call it 'Voices'. It’s a selection of sounds that somehow came together on their own and created this succession of chants in languages that I don’t even speak nor understand. But still, they always touch me. There I think lies the mystery of music. I hope these sounds will please your ears as much as they please mine.

I take on a tummy rumbling, bass thumping, deep & groovy excavation across some sounds I've been drawing energy from lately for the first 30 minutes. Always an interesting challenge deciding how to play an Electronic set that short, it has to be succinct (like tweeting with under 140 characters). I've always thought of DJ'ing like Legos… there's unlimited possibilities if you have the right pieces. Made with care, love and consideration (as always), take care of yourselves and each other.
