Signals 2 Noise Focus Week #1: Radio Orange

Gitti is a neighborhood radio from Vienna, originating and dedicated to the city district of Brigittenau. In this episode, the hosts of the show (created by Sara Van Dordrecht and Saskya Rudigier) follow the history of pirate radio in Vienna, together with the local radio archivist, Margit Wolfsberger. The episode kicks off withe the visit to the Brigittenau District Museum, a starting point for the radio history in Vienna, and then continues with a visit to the Radio ORANGE headquarters, with anecdotes from radio's founders and other uncanny discoveries. The historical tour ends with stories about dark cellars and conspiratorial meetings leading to hoisting the metaphorical pirate flag on the roof of the first pirate radio station in Vienna.
