Lionel AKA Edmond Truandisn't an artist who was performing at Encore Encore, but his familiarity with the organisers, the ease we found in speaking to him and his blond mullet on his tall frame definitely made him remarkable to us. And did we mention he makes his own tape mixes? We chatted tapes, we chatted friends and all in all had a lovely time. And at some point a very red drink was spilled on the bright white Cashmere flag we brought with us, but that's all in good fun!

In June 2023, Tristan and Seb traveled from Berlin and Bristol via Marseille to the small, picturesque village of Correns in the Var to explore Encore Encore Festival for Cashmere Radio. We have lived and met in rural southern France, so a party behind the village hall in a place better known for wine and drunk driving than music is back to basics for the Eggmen.
But Encore Encore is something very different to the ska punk of Festibaloche or the medleys of Abba and Jonny Halliday from the Fete de La Musique. Established by a group of young locals and their compatriots from Marseille, it is all about modern attitudes and modern music. Markedly queer positive, the acts and entertainment range from a transfeminist football team getting most of the festival to play 5-a-side, to 80s inspired pop via French cutting edge RnB and ending most evenings with punishing trance and techno sets. The echo bouncing between the cliff face behind the stage and the salle polyvalente in front can sometimes be a bit disconcerting. But it's undeniably a whole world of fun in an environment that encourages you to be yourself, whoever you are.
