The Grapevine #5: On Listening

10 July 2026
  • Talk Show
  • Informative

Lend us your ears to overhear through the grapevine once again – this time, to catch you listening and invite you to think about what it means with us: to listen back, in, out, across, and over the radio. In this episode, we, Matteo and Ieva, continue embracing our feminist tendencies to dive deeper into listening as a mode of social participation and political practice.

How do we learn to hear the world, ourselves, each other – through our ears and through the radio? What are the histories of technology, both social and material, that led us to listen the way that we do, and what are other cultural practices of listening that we overlook, or rather overhear? All of this and more: on how the radio has shaped our ears, while our ears were using radio to raise knowledge, from gossip to confession, in this episode of unruly radio exploration.
