To Hear Is To Feel #5: Diser Tape, Strukturator

 

 

Diser Tape is an electronic duo based in Kyiv city. Ukrainian producers and sound engineers Nika Zenova and Artem Kanishchev have been working on the project since 2010.

Their emotively warm music is located between dub-influenced electronica, sharing space with slow-motion ambient, glitch and muted techno. Using these genres as reference points from which to stray, Diser Tape uses different analogue and digital instruments and tools, some of which they create themselves (modular synthesiser components and Max/MSP tools for multi-channel panning). Both musicians also appreciate field recording, constantly updating their various sample libraries.

Artem has several years of event-making experience, being a co-founder of the creative community Teple Yabluko which focuses on supporting the Ukrainian experimental electronic scene.
Nika also works as a film sound engineer and has solo music project Syncøpe.
