Troptopia #29 Cabo Verde Special with DJ Nesta

On the 25th April, which was a very special day for Portugal and its former colonies,

we made this Cabo Verde Special with our dear guest DJ Nesta of Batuque LoFi & Sal Grosso.

At least since the epic Sampler “Space Echo – The Mystery Behind the Cosmic Sound of Cabo Verde”

of Analog Africa, the world knows a little more about the uniqueness of capeverdean (dance) music,

besides the great Cesária Évora. We went a little deeper and flung out some Bulimundo, Blyk Tchutchi, Zézé Nha Reinalda and more.

Label of the Month is Ostinato Records, located in NYC,

which put out some decent funana singles,

also a cabo verde sampler and will come up with more CV stuff.
