Hello and welcome to the twentieth episode of Trouble in Paradise. All is not well in the world, but here – on Cashmere Radio – we summon sonic waves of utopian possibility. Today we bring you The Estate of Myour Gape.

In 2024 artist Clemente Ciarrocca founded 'The Estate of Myour Gape', establishing Gape's name as an open trademark, and thus allowing multiple Gape-positive individuals to practice under this name. The procedures for acquiring the trademark rights are outlined in The Estate's Charter, listed publicly at www.theestateofmyourgape.org

Myour Gape is Ciarrocca’s alter-ego and the leading character of an interdisciplinary project encompassing poetry, live performance, and now – as you are about to hear – experimental radio art.

Centred around the reading of Gape's fictionalised diary entries, the collaborative soundwork you are about to hear is a requiem for the deceased. Holding space for the mourning for the fictional protagonist, this aural imaginary blurs the boundary between fiction and autobiography, conjuring the affect of funerary procession. Produced by Shimmer and Ciarrocca, it is made up of original composition, selected musical tracks, field recordings, and several deindividualised voices.
