For this episode, Ivana Dilova and Artur Cipriani will join us to talk about the relationship between depression, melancholia and art, specifically the transformative potential that is immanent to artistic practices.
Ivana is a clinical psychologist and a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in formation, orienting her practice through Freudian and Lacanian traditions.
Artur is a Berlin-based psychoanalyst, with formation within the World Association of Psychoanalysis and a student of 'The New Centre for Research & Practice'. He is interested in the historical refiguration of melancholia and depression and in their constitution as contemporary epidemics.
Tune in and follow us on our exploration of the various perspectives psychoanalytic theory can offer on this relationship.
Isn’t every effort to reinvent (or recapture) the experience of mental suffering a form of art?
