Voices In My Head – Roots & Culture Special – with DJ Alex

After some thoughts…decided that this the first ‘Voices In My Head’ show of 2019 would be dedicated to one of my favourite musical genres Roots Reggae and Dub. A music I have been following since the early 90’s through listening to favourite selectors, soundsystems like Boomshakalaka/Disciples, Manasseh, Channel One, Jah Youth, Prince Sherman, Saxon. Through pirate radio like Kiss Fm and dances..Dub Club, Jah Shaka, various soundclashes and lots of local do’s in and around East & North London. Also it’s the start of the New Year..time for hope..change and outlook so what better way to get inspired with ‘Word Sound And Power’ and the original sound of the drum n bass :). Lots of vintage vocal, dubs 7’s, 12 Discomix and Lp cuts. Will try and get in another Reggae special in later this year…enjoy an bless up :).
