Ci(r)cadian Rhythm by Yulia Glukhova

8-channel site-specific electroacoustic composition commissioned by SA)) gallery in Electromuseum

This is time-compressed day-cycle heard through sounds of crickets, katydids and cicadas recorded in Crimea peninsula during my solo field trip in summer 2018. The sound activity of these insects is related to the ambient temperature and in my opinion it is able to easily form a sensory understanding of the state of the environment and time of day. Lapel microphones were used in the work. The installation originally is 8-channel. 8 speakers were installed around a hiking tent, so you are listening from inside.

• Phonurgia nova award 2019, prix “paysage sonore”

• Sonospace, soundmaps for the dreamer
