Passage: Bilabiale Reibelaute on stage with Biesentales/Echochamber/Deadamp

    September 15, 2020

This coming friday our Passage program continues on stage, presenting “Bilabiale Reibelaute” with Biesentales/Echochamber/Deadamp.

    Performers meet playable sound installation.

“Echochamber”/Deadamp is a Berlin-/Biesenthal-based sound installation setup working upon the simple idea of feedbacking a room onto itself. Using a room microphone and various different speaker types including modified guitar amps the usually steady characteristics of a given room are made to be modifiable and playable – both as a room only, and as well filled with/triggered by performers (here “Biesentales”). Imagine for instance a small wooden hut turned into a bigger room, which then varies in size over time, slowly or surprisingly, upon the two Room players modulating the space.

“Biesentales” are Cashmere Radio hosts for one. However, in this case it is a group of 7++ players, who use the name to identify themselves as being closely associated with Wokule e.V. and their lakeside camp near Biesenthal, north of Berlin. The players hare a fable for slow, improvised music.

Framed by Lippstueck of Air Cushion Finish reading excerpts from Gertrude Stein’s “Ida”, the [Players] will fill in-between spaces with music and sound explorations, interplaying with the [Room], in various density and combinations. Mileage may vary, but one can expect a more or less uninterrupted and transmutational listener space for up to 3 hours.

Confirmed cast of players, various acoustic instruments and found objects F.S. Blumm, jayrope, Sven König (EC), Lippstueck, Milena Pohl, Klaudiusz Schimanowski (DA), Suetszu.

Tune in friday 18.09 from 18:00 to 21:00 Berlin time. Cashmere Radio on FM 88.4 MHz Berlin / 90.7 MHz Potsdam – and streaming on www.cashmereradio.com
