Evergreen podcast started in 2022 to explore the intersectional, ecologist activism operating in
Genova. Through various settings and environments – namely Electropark, a Global Strike For
Future, and local places of social an political gathering for the feminist and LGBTQIA+ community
– the purpose of its first episodes was to build an audio map of the local communities fighting for a
change. “Thinking green while the world is burning” was the motto.
Now the podcast will keep its main mission of cultural, social mapping, but it will focus on
Electropark and the cultural echosystem where the festival takes place and which itself contributes
to enliven. Starting from Electropark, in fact, is the best way to highlight the connections between
different local communities and the deep intersection between natural and urban sounds, people
moods, beliefs, lives blending in through the constant crowd of Genova.
As claimed by Betram Niessen, sociologist and activist, our purpose as inhabitants aware of the
cultural complexity of a city is to understand how to keep, after the pandemic, living in the vortex.
Evergreen wishes to get lost in the vortex, in its voices and sounds, and re-emerge with the
possibility of a new urban life of HYPERNATURE.
