This show is about my journey as a girl from Greece who moves to Berlin and discovers a parallel world, one filled with both similarities and differences compared to my everyday life back in Greece. As I navigate this new world, thoughts and emotions emerge, and I’m sure others with a similar background can relate to what I’m experiencing. I’m not always great with words, but I’ve found a way to express myself through the kanun, a traditional Middle Eastern instrument, similar to the German zither, and also known in Greece.
Through live improvisation on the kanun, I’ll share my thoughts and reflections, drawn from daily recordings I make on my phone. The audience is welcome to join in and contribute their own personal touches to the experience.
