La Casa del Obrero Mundial
‘There is no way I’m coming back to Mexico. I can’t stand being in a country more surrealist than my paintings’ – said Salvador Dali after his first and only visit the country’s capital. Well, Muk did go back, and after some rollercoaster-like months & contemplations La Casa del Obrero Mundial was born. Named after a street that she frequented both during her first visit and second settlement, which respectively is named after a worker’s syndicat from 1912, this is your monthly dosis of Mukmex surrealism: a collage of sound recordings from one of the world’s biggest and crowdiest cities (which sometimes seems like a sound art piece itself) interviews with local artists and gems from Muk’s gem-box. From surreal Mexico with real love!
